Who We Are
Amhara Mahber of Arizona is a community-based nonprofit organization established in 2023 by members of the Amhara diaspora residing in Arizona, United States. Rooted in a strong cultural heritage and guided by the core values of unity, dignity, and service, the organization dedicates itself to supporting Amhara communities in Ethiopia. Conflict, persecution, and natural disasters have adversely affected these communities. Our mission is to provide timely and effective humanitarian assistance in response to both natural and man-made crises. We achieve this by mobilizing the resources, expertise, and collective goodwill of the Amhara diaspora in Arizona and beyond.

Our Story
The idea for Amhara Mahber of Arizona began when members of the local Amhara community witnessed the growing displacement and humanitarian crises affecting Amhara families across Ethiopia. We saw mothers struggling to feed their children, families forced to flee their homes, and entire communities ravaged by violence. From this shared pain came a shared commitment: We must do something. In 2023, that commitment became an organized effort — a structured, community‑led humanitarian association dedicated to helping displaced Amhara regain stability, dignity, and hope. Today, our story continues through every donation, every volunteer, every event, and every life touched by our work.
What We Do
